4 for 17 (well almost 5)

We (Yahoo!) had a cricket match with Microsoft yesterday. We scored 175 runs in 25 overs and got them all out for 104. My contribution was taking 4 wickets (two caught and two bowled) for 17 runs only in 5 overs, a catch and one run out. Infact I almost had 5 wickets. I got a Microsoft player LBW in my second over (the umpire gave him out) but we knew that it was an inside edge onto the pads and that he should not have been given out. So we called him back. I lost my 5th wicket there but then sportsmanship should be a part of the game.

I am just wondering what you guys would have done if microsoft was on 174/9 ;-)

I am obviously referring here(above) to your sportsmanship.

How many overs are left? Is it the better batsman being given out wrongly by the umpire?

Well actually I would have gone up to the batsman and said "hard luck". There is a fine line between sportsmanship and stupidity, and it would be stupid to call him back, because after all you play to win.

If the match was not so close, I would call him back in an instant unless of course he is Sachin Tendulkar. :)

Yes, I was referring to a scenario where an over was left & batsman was given out wrongly.

Going by your reply ... It should have been Gamesmanship and not sportsmanship ;-)!
