There are many things I like about Bangalore and then there are few things I dislike about Bangalore. This one is probably on the top of the dislikes list. People in Bangalore (especially on the highways and badly lit parts of Bangalore) love driving with their headlights on highbeam.
The other day I was returning from Nandi hill and was blinded everytime a car or a SUV or a truck passed by me on the opposite direction. If the blinding wasnt bad enough, the roads are also not good either. There were speed breakers on the highway (Grr..) and there was no sign before them, nor were they painted black and white. If you are lucky (saracasm) enough, you would be blinded just before the speed breaker that you cannot see from a distance and take off in the air for a few seconds. If you are really really lucky (more sarcasm) your bike would land on some sand dropped by a truck carrying sand and you will definitely skid.
Atleast in the olden days in Bangalore, there was a rule to cover the top half of the headlight with a black sticker so that you didnt blind oncoming traffic. But now, nobody cares. I am sure there is a law against driving with highbeams in the city but who cares. I know this is a way to control India's population (yet another sarcasrtic remark) by blinding people and causing accidents, but don't think this is the best way.
So if you are in Bangalore or anywhere else in the world reading this blog, please show some concern towards human life and avoid high beams. If you have to use it on a highway please do use it put then put it on low beam when you see oncoming traffic.

Anywhere else...showing concern?
It does'nt make much sense in the US man...the roads are so damn broad and 99% of the roads have a meidan...the cars move around in speeds of 50-60-70 mph...can you believe these are the speeds on regular roads and am not talking about highways. I dint acually understand when people talked about rules....we'll have to come here to understand what rules are.
